BAD, BAD news.. Hip-Hop is dead....
OK maybe a melodramatic thing to say but really have you been listening to Hip-Hop for the last few years.. It started with Dre leaving Death Row, If Suge wasnt so hellbent on painting himself as THE gangsta and just let the guys who made the music make the headlines they would probably all still be making music there, Tupac was killed, Snoop Left Death Row and started to sound camp, Kurupt and Daz had a falling out and that was the end of Tha Dogg Pound. The West Coast just died on its feet right there... Death Row WAS the West and bottom line is Suge f*cked it up!!!
Over on the East Coast... Biggie was killed. Allegations were made that Suge Knight had something to do with it. I dont know if its true, but if it is, then Suge killed killed ALL of Hip-Hop. Putting an end to both West and East...
Once Biggie was dead you only really had the Wu Tang Clan left on the east.. There were no more BIG stars left.. Thats when the likes of Jay-Z started to push to the fore. Now I have always thought that while Jay can certainly write clever lyrics(or just think them up cos he dont write em down) his actual MCing left ALOT to be desired! His flow makes me think that he is a dude complaining all the time.... WACK!!! Flow wise, or I should just say vocally, there are lots of better MC's than Jay, its just his lyrics and pop style music are a real seller. And lets face it he makes Pop Rap... Most Hip-Hop these days falls into that catergory and as for the Dirrty south?????? UTTER SHITE..... real crap.... Sorry, but it is rubbish! I wont actually take time to name a one of them cos they are all lame, the odd good tune per rapper, per album isnt really good enough is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hear alot of people stirring, well I dont cos I know not a soul reads this Blog! They are thinking that Jay is the greatest rapper alive... well that he may be but if most of his contemparies are cack then thats no real boast at-all... anyway, let me not forget Eminem. Now he is again a gifted writer and makes reasonable tunes, tho alot of it sound like he did them on a contempi keyboard at home, but his over reliance on dissing his mum is just WEAK to me. His albums have too many fillers and he has already burned up all his material! Plus his voice is annoying after a while, he sounds like he has a cold, very nasel(I am sure I have misspelt that nose thing...)
I have to mention a favourite pair of mine.... the infamous MOBB DEEP!!!!! Check out the Infamous and Hell on Earth... Two of the Banginest LP's of ALL times! Heavy, HEAVY beats and some cold blooded lyrics... you could make a top notch greatest hits album of just the two LP's I mentioned there. But time seems to dim alot of MC's and the Mobb are no different, when they dont have anything and are on the grind(whatever that means) they have more feeling and a rawness that has feeling, plus when you are a kid you believe your own hype, but as time went by the quality of their Albums has fallen away! The NAIL in the coffin came from New Yorks newest and most annoying cat, 50 Cent, A dude with his head WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY up his own arse! This is another guy who can right superb lyrics but has a cack voice with no feeling in it. He is another one who makes pop music. the best thing rappers can do is make the music then not tak to the media, cos when they talk so much shite that you cannot help but hate them! He is the BEST example of this... and I cant forgive him for getting Hav and P to say G-G-G G-un..... oh man I just cant type it.. that hurt.. Hav and P take 50's money and quit the game..

Now onto the Game... this guy can rap, has good music and so far... I say SO FAR... hasnt chatted too much shite in his interviews. I wil try to avoid reading anything he says. He is coming with a new album soon so wewill see what he has got... but even if it is a great one, Hip-Hop is on its last legs....
