Yes it had to happen....
I love Football, the game of billions. I am a Liverpool Fan. I love Stevie G, Robbie Fowler, Carra, Xabi Alonso, Luis Garcia, Big Sami Hyypia, Crouchy, Momo etc....
There is something spiritiual about supporting the Merseyside Reds.. Alot of people call me a glory hunter, Cos I am from London. But If you have been a Liverpool fan for the last 15 years the glory has been in rather short supply. No I just love the fans, the team colours and the history. Most of all I love the banners the Liverpool fans make... No other Fans in the world can match them for Originality, Humour, Poetry..... Those fans LOVE their club, OUR Club.
When I was Little no one in my house liked football, so I had no history to look to when I realised that I liked football. At 5 years old I had no idea where Liverpool was in relation to my house!!!!!!! Whats LOCAL????? If your local football team is your dads pub side why dont people support that instead of a professional team???? Its all about glory hunting... EVERY fan!!!
So I just smile when I get that Glory hunter call.. Simple, I just did what all kids do, agree with the people who are around you(same as when your dad takes you to football and you are MADE to support HIS team).... All the other Kids supported Liverpool, so did I... well, when I was asked I just said that... I had no clue that they were the "best" all I knew was that I had seen some football on TV and found it exciting.
Its a kind of stupid snobbery when people say you are a glory hunter... I like watching teams play nice football.. Arsenal play beautiful stuff, so do Man U... And when I was young, Liverpool played the nicest football to watch... simple... I wouldnt have followed them if they played ugly football....
Football at its best is GLORIOUS indeed... Exciting, Nerve wracking, Emotional, Tense, Sad... Its why it is THE game... I love my cricket and Rugby too, but football is the best!!!!!
