Footballers Money

Just something I wanted to say about this subject!

Why are people so against working class boys making money so they can support their extended families? Why would they rather already wealthy men get more money? Why have other working class people joined in this idiotic campaign against footballers getting paid the money they ARE due, as the talent that brings in the money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have yet to hear anyone really come up with a good argument against it! If you can post a comment that explains your viewpoint I would be happy.

Do not put any note mentioning how little Doctors, Nurses or teachers are paid by comparison, because that is irrelevant. Come on and explain why, in particular, footballers should not be paid that money!

I will bet no one will!!!!!!!!!

It is just a bug bear of mine, so few people mention how much tennis players get, or Rugby players get, or snooker players get, or actors get , or musicians get..... you catch my drift right...

So come on, one person please come on and make a real argument!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bill O'Reilly

I have recently been watching quite alot of U.S. "news" shows. The above named fellow has a show on Fox news. Now Fox News is owned by Rupert Murdoch. Yup, Murdoch, the owner of the sun. It seems that those who work for Murdoch are not really allowed to go against his grain. If Murdoch is pro tory, then all his staff will be pro tory. If a week later he was pro labour, so would they be. And so on. It seems to me that Roop tends to lean toward the more conservative type of people, tho this can be overruled, it would seem, if his economics are threatened!

I think I am correct in saying that Roop has gone from being an Aussie, to a Brit, then onto an American, I am sure if he thought there was money and influence in becoming a citizen of the moon he would do so.

In short, in my opinion, Murdoch cares only about HIS business interests. The sun in the UK is a paper that in general panders to the worst in people here. Bordering on racist, definatly mysoganistic, it really is the type of paper that intelligent people do not read. UNLESS, its for the sports section.... hehehehe, seriously... the sports pages are supposed to be pretty good. I dont buy the sun so I dunno, but thats what they tell me. To be truthful, I never read the papers anymore. Our papers are KNOWN for printing lies and half truths. So I dont see the point in reading them.

On to Billy. Having watched him in action, his interviewing "technique" is appalling, he regularily tells his guests to shut up or tells them they are loons or is just plain rude to them. He is so biased it is almost unbelieveable. He doesnt even try to hide it. (Please bare in mind that when I say he is biased, his bias falls in line with Mr Murdochs views, as I have said already)

Unfortunatley Mr O'Reilly is part of what seemed to be quite a widespread campaign to beat down any descent on the Iraq war, or war on terror! Breifly here our government sent an idiot on to TV to try and say that if we dont agree with the government the we agree with the terrorists... it was short lived cos we are not Mericans and so we are not so easily fooled, even sun readers!

Bill would be laughed off TV here, but is apperently widely watched in the US. It is a worrying thought!

Defeat.....

Well... Liverpool lost the final, if you live anywhere in Europe, even in the most back water part of eastern europe, even if you train bears to ride tricycles, you will know this!

It wasnt a thrashing or a really dispressing game where Liverpool were clearly out of their depth. Quite the opposite in fact. Liverpool controlled the game and never really looked in too much danger. The problem was our wide men. Bolo Zenden and Jermaine Pennant. Two players who, if you rolled their talents together to make one player, would still be the wrong side of useless!

But it wasnt only them. With these two failing to put one single decent ball into the box all night, despite having time and space to deliver, our limited strike force was left to work off scraps. With Stevie G up front alongside Dirk Kuyt you effectively have two second strikers playing, for the uninitiated that means two guys who arent out and out goal scorers who are more likely to create a chance than score! But none the less they were inneffective.

All the same I am not that upset at the out come, we played well and we have genuine hope for the future. I am sure the new owners will back Rafa with some cahs and we can challenge for the Championship as well as the Champions League!

Anyway all you Reds out there. CHIN UP!!!!!!!

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.............. Tha Final

Good day, Good people!

Well! I have to talk a little bit about the rather dull game we watched on saturday for the F.A. Cup final!

It was a poor game. Not much in the way of excitement or good football. For some reason, Sir Alex Ferguson likes to play one up when he plays against the better sides. Its not something that works for him. He usually employs that style of play when he is playing away in the champions league. It doesnt suit Wayne Rooney at-all! He is better coming onto the ball as opposed to playing with his back to goal! Clearly that role would be better filled by Alan Smith, but he isnt a fashionable, big name. United have won only the one away game in the last twelve or thirteen attempts, deploying this system!

Fergie has yet to make the link! Then again maybe I am not in possesion of all the facts, maybe they have not always used the lone front man in that period, but it just doesnt work for united when it matters!

Anyway, on to the big one!

Tonight Milan and Liverpool square up in the Olympic Stadium in the historic city of Athens, The Acropolis watching on. Tens of Thousands of Football fans have made their way to the city for a repeat of the 2005 final. Milan do not believe vengance is part of their motivation, a lie. It will definatly be a factor!

Liverpool on the other hand are in a strangley comfortable position. Win and another amazing chapter in the great history of Liverpool FC will be written, Loose, and you can say, well, we beat you last time....

All the Bookies are making Milan the favourites. Seven of Milan's Likely starting 11 played that night in Istanbul. While Liverpool should have six. In the 2 years since that final, liverpool have strengthened their team and have gained more valuable experience. Milan on the other hand have grown 2 years older. Now that doesnt mean to say that the advantage is with Liverpool. Milan took manchester United apart in the semi finals and no doubt about it, Manchester United are a better team than Liverpool!

They say in boxing styles make fights. And this final has a genuine mystery to it because of that!
Manchester United, even when playing only one up, are an attacking outift. Always trying to stretch the play, Liverpool compress the play and force the opponents outwide. Milan are a down the middle team, which is just where Liverpools strength lies. Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano, Agger, Carragher.

As long as Liverpool do not allow Milan to control possesion too much, and give support to whoever plays up front, likely to be Dirk Kuyt, otherwise the ball will keep coming back and Kaka WILL create and score!!!!

A tense night is in prospect! Fingers crossed Liverpool win!!!

Good Bye Tito!

So, After ten years at the top our not so beloved leader, Anthony Blair, has called time on his premiership!

I feel sure that things have not turned out the way he expected. The tide of optimism upon which Tito surfed to power washed away the stench of sleaze covering the previous Tory Government. I do recall that genuine feeling, that things were about to take a turn for the better, that we would have a government in place that, if not actually getting everything right, would make its decisions based on what was right, if not in the true Labour way of fighting first and formost for the working classes, then at least ideas born of the fire of old labour, then hammered out on the anvil that is NEW LABOUR.... Things can only get better, was the song and the nations D:ream.

So the question one now has to ask is, What went wrong, if anything? Was Tony so very bad? Did he let us down as badly as Tory twit, old Etonian and leader of the weakest opposition party since err... you know the last weakest opposition party!! Whoever that may be. But DC(David Cameron) has shown himself to be an oppurtunist, not a really skilled one with outstanding intellect, just an oppurtunist! But was Tito so very bad? If he was, why did DC fail so often to really show this at PMQ's(Prime Ministers Questiontime)? Maybe, apart from DC being the real life version of Tim nice but Dim, Maybe Tony wasnt THAT bad..... Possibly?

I think he is ,quite rightly, being given a bit of a beating at the moment, his legacy(?! That word again) has been cemented, long before he has walked out of office, as Iraq. A standpoint that cannot be argued, in my opinion. Tito has had many domestic success's, Low unemployment, record numbers of people in work. NHS waiting list down(genuinely), Working Tax credit's, crime is down...... We now have peace in Northern Island too!!!!!! These things can be said to be Tony's Legacy too!!!

So why has Iraq so defined him? To me it is linked to SPIN. For years now New Labour have sought to pull the wool over our eyes when they have had no need to. Long before any dodgy Dossier. Leaks here and there, bad news being realeased as good news. Tony's government developed a reputation for being deceptive, despite, by and large, doing a good job!

When the dossier came out leading members of the cabinet resigned, claiming that this was not sufficient evidence to go to war. Tony insisted that it was. Then made the fatal error of siding, nay standing shoulder to shoulder, with a man widely regarded as an imbecile in the UK! GEORGE W. BUSH! Short of coming out to speak about international issues with Zippy from Rainbow, Tito could not have found an allie more widely ridiculed in this new fangled war on TERRRROOOOOR!

So, he has a reputation for not quite being totally honest, CHOSE an idiot for a boss, after-all, Tony has been labelled Gee Wizzles lap dog, is evermore linked with a dodgy dossier and has, no doubt, totally failed in his and Gee-Wizzles stated aim of making the world safer and bringing democracy(well democracy lite cos all the real decisions about the country are now being made in Washington and will continue to be!) to Iraq...... Oh, and the small matter of the UK now being firmly in the sites of homemade terrorists and the Hierarchy of Osama Bin-Ladens Al-Queda....

It is clearly THE defining issue of his time, all the other issues pale in comparison. The war on terror, our place in it and how it has evolved, how the British Government KNEW there were extremists working hard in the UK but ALLOWED them to spread their message, represents a total failiure, from start to finish!

Thats how and why he will be remembered! All his succes's mean very little, when your biggest moment represents your biggest failiure!!! A failure for which all the people of the UK and the
world will pay for in blood.....................

Tito cant expect to be well recalled!!!
